With your Real Plans subscription + Whole30 upgrade, you can customize your Whole30 meal plan to meet your specific dietary and scheduling needs. We recommend using calendar meal planning during your Whole30 reset.

If you are using the mobile app, you will follow the steps below. If you are using the website, click here to learn how to set up your Whole30 meal plan.

Select the Whole30 diet type

  • Click the gear icon (this is where you access your settings)

      • If you need to exclude nightshades from your diet, be sure to exclude both nightshades and potatoes (sweet potatoes are not nightshades)
      • We recommend not excluding foods for which you have a good substitution or could easily omit.  Here is a list of our Top 20 Ingredients that we recommend not excluding.
  • Select whether you would like to use simple meal planning or calendar meal planning
    • We recommend using calendar meal planning for your Whole30, so that a meal plan is automatically created for you
  • Enter your Whole30 start date
    • Your meal planner begins on the date of purchase to give you time to get familiar with your meal planner and do your shopping.
    • You will need to select a start date to begin your Whole30 countdown.
  • Select the number of days for your Whole30
    • The default is 30 days, but you can change that to fit your needs

Set your meal planning schedule

  • Select how many dinners you will cook each week
    • Use the slider to select the number of recipes that will be cooked for dinner during the week
  • Check the box next to Do you want enough for leftovers? if you would like the meal plan to use leftovers for some of the meals
    • Note: Leftovers will be scheduled during lunches and/or dinners based on the number of dinner recipes selected
  • Select the appropriate number for How many extra leftover portions would you like to make?
    • This is the number of extra portions of each dinner recipe that you want to make
  • Select the appropriate number for Over how many meals do you want to spread these leftovers
    • This is how many meals each dinner recipe will be used for a leftover
  • Select the types of meals that you want scheduled for lunches and breakfasts
  • Select how many lunches and breakfasts will be needed each week
  • Click Update if you are done making changes.

A new meal plan will be created for you using these basic scheduling settings. However, sometimes you may decide you want a little more control over your schedule. If so, you can create a customized schedule to fit your needs.
