How to Use Options to Personalize Your Schedule When Using the Automated Meal Planning Style

When you are using the automated meal planning style, you can use the available options to personalize your Meal Planner to meet your scheduling needs. 

Personalize your schedule

To personalize your schedule:

  • Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the website (this is where you access your Settings)
  • This opens the My Meal Plan or Whole30 Meal Plan tab to the Diet and Schedule page where you can make adjustments to your schedule.

Open personalized scheduling

  • Click Personalize My Schedule
  • Select the meal times when you want a recipe scheduled using the toggles

Set up your options

  • Click on Options next to the meal time you want to personalize
  • Things to consider before you use the options to personalize your schedule:
    • Choose the fewest options possible to meet your needs 
      • The more options you choose, the lower the number of Available Recipes will be
      • Click on Reset to remove all filters for that meal
  • Available options include:
    • Leftovers
      • Use the drop down box to select the leftovers that you want scheduled for that meal time each week
    • Specific Recipe
      • Type the name of the recipe you would like and then select it from the dropdown list
      • Check the box to Show recipes within my diet if you only want to see recipes that meet your dietary preferences
      • Select the number that you would like to cook for
      • Click Confirm Options to add it to your schedule
    • Main ingredient
      • Choose the preferred main ingredient for the recipe scheduled
    • Active time
      • Schedule meals that take less than fifteen minutes or half hour to prepare for busy nights.
    • Course
      • For lunch and dinner only - select between entree/main course and soup
    • Total time
      • Schedule meals that take less than thirty minutes or an hour to cook for busy nights.
    • Tags
      • Choose from a variety of tags
      • Schedule a slow cooker meal or pressure cooker meal, if desired
      • Create your own tags
    • Favorite Recipes
      • Use this option to specify that you want one of your favorite recipes to schedule at that meal time each week
      • This option is only visible if you have marked a recipe as a favorite
    • Cuisine
      • Select a specific cuisine, if desired
    • Origin
      • Select the days you want a recipe from a specific add-on recipe collection
      • The planner will only list the recipe collections that you currently have available
    • Available Recipes
      • Based on your selected options, this section displays the number of recipes the meal planner will have to choose from
    • Cook for
      • If you normally cook dinner for 4 but only cook for 2 for lunch, you can change the Portions number to reflect the number of servings you need for each meal.
      • If you selected that you want leftovers on the Diet and Schedule page, this will be reflected automatically in your filters.
  • Click on Confirm Options to save the options for that meal

Save changes

  • Click Save on the schedule page, which takes you back to the Diet and Schedule page.
  • Click Deploy New Plan at the bottom of the Diet and Schedule page to apply your changes and create a new meal plan.
