How to Set Up Basic Scheduling and Leftovers (Website)

Access your Settings

  • Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the website (this is where you access your Settings)
  • Select My Meal Plan or Whole30 Meal Plan
  • This opens the Diet and Schedule page where you can specify dietary restrictions as well as make adjustments to your schedule.
  • To make changes to your diet or schedule, click on the Detail page

Make changes to your diet

  • Toggle Use macro-driven meal plans to On or Off
    • When macro-driven meal plans are toggled on, the options on the Diet and Schedule page will change as a recipe or leftover will be scheduled for every meal during the week
    • Note: Macro-driven meal plans are not available when Whole30 functions are active
    • Note: Macro-driven meal plans require the Macro Tracker add-on subscription
  • For the Whole30 diet type, you will select:
    • Start date for your Whole30
    • Length of your Whole30 
    • Note: A Whole30 subscription is required to access the Whole30 functions
  • Change your diet type by selecting an option from the dropdown menu
  • Set Advanced dietary restrictions to exclude entire food groups and/or individual ingredients

Make changes to the schedule: Dinner

  • Change the default number of servings for each meal
  • Select how many dinners you will cook each week
    • Use the slider to select the number of recipes that will be cooked for dinner during the week 
  • Check the box next to Do you want enough for leftovers? if you would like the meal plan to use leftovers for some of the meals
    • Note: Leftovers will be scheduled during lunches and/or dinners based on the number of dinner recipes selected
  • Select the appropriate number for How many extra leftover portions would you like to make?
    • This is the number of extra portions of each recipe that you want to make
    • For example, if you normally cook for 4 and would like to have 2 extra portions of a meal leftover so you can have this for lunch the next day, you would select 2 here.
  • Select the appropriate number for Over how many meals do you want to spread these leftovers
    • This is how many meals each recipe will be used for a leftover
    • For example, if you select 1, each dinner will be used as a leftover one time. But if you select 2, each dinner will be used as a leftover two times during the week.

Make changes to the schedule: Lunch

  • Select the types of meals that you want scheduled for lunches
    • I want leftovers from dinner - the meal planner will use any leftovers from the dinner recipes and schedule them for lunches
    • I want to make lunchbox meals to take out of the house - the meal planner will schedule grab and go recipes that you can make ahead
    • I prefer something that is quick to make - the meal planner will schedule quick and easy recipes 
    • I don’t want to schedule anything at all- the meal planner will not schedule any lunch recipes during the week
  • Select how many lunches will be needed each week
    • This is the number of lunch meals that you want to cook each week
    • For example, if you select 5 meals, then recipes will be provided for 5 meals. If leftovers are also available, they will fill in empty lunch slots

Make changes to the schedule: Breakfast

  • Select the types of meals that you want scheduled for breakfasts
    • I don’t need to plan for breakfast - the meal planner will not schedule any breakfast recipes during the week
    • I make a different breakfast a few times a week - the meal planner will schedule several different recipes, based on the number of recipes you have selected that you want to make for breakfast
    • I make a big batch of breakfast items that are used all week - the meal planner will schedule the number of recipes you have selected to make and will automatically plan for leftovers of those recipes
    • I enjoy smoothies in the morning - the meal planner will schedule smoothies for all breakfasts, based on the number of breakfasts selected that you want to make each week
  • Select how many breakfasts will be needed each week
    • This is the number of breakfast meals that you want to cook each week
    • For example, if you select 5 meals, then recipes will be provided for 5 meals. 

Make changes to the schedule: Customized scheduling

  • To completely customize your schedule, click on Customized scheduling
    • Note: Customizing a schedule will override all of the basic scheduling settings explained above

Save your changes

  • Once you are done making any changes, click Save

Confirm your changes

  • Update my plan
    • Applies your changes to the current week and future weeks
    • This removes all of the recipes on your meal plan, including the current week, and schedules all new recipes using your new settings
  • Update my future plan
    • Applies your changes on the following week's meal plan
    • The current week will not change
